Our client is seeking an experienced Senior System Architect to play a key role in the design and implementation of a secure, scalable, and future-proof Google Cloud platform. The initial objective is to establish a Google Cloud Foundation MVP enabling the adoption of AI solutions such as Google Gemini, while laying the groundwork for broader enterprise cloud adoption and future DevOps onboarding.
The ideal candidate combines strong enterprise architecture expertise with hands-on cloud implementation experience and is capable of translating strategic objectives into robust cloud foundations that align with enterprise security, governance, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Platform Design
- Design and implement an enterprise-grade Google Cloud architecture aligned with corporate standards, policies, and governance requirements.
- Define a scalable and future-proof Google Cloud Foundation, initially supporting the adoption of Google Gemini and future AI use cases.
- Establish architecture principles, standards, and reusable design patterns to enable efficient onboarding of future DevOps teams.
- Contribute to high-level solution design and evaluate architectural alternatives.
- Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to develop and realize architectural enablers and strategic initiatives.
Security & Governance
- Develop and maintain cloud security and threat models.
- Define governance standards and controls covering:
- Encryption
- Security standards and policies
- Access management
- Regulatory and compliance requirements
- Ensure security controls are integrated into existing enterprise security processes and frameworks.
Identity & Access Management
- Design and implement enterprise IAM solutions.
- Define and oversee:
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Federated Identity Management
- Least Privilege Access principles
- Ensure secure and compliant access management across cloud environments.
Operations, Monitoring & Reliability
- Implement logging, monitoring, and observability capabilities.
- Integrate cloud monitoring with existing SIEM and operational platforms.
- Define operational processes for incident management, platform support, and continuous improvement.
- Enable and support continuous delivery through appropriate platform design and architecture guidance.
Cloud Management & FinOps
- Establish cloud governance and lifecycle management practices.
- Define cloud operating and engagement models aligned with existing cloud vendor management approaches.
- Implement cost management, showback/chargeback mechanisms, and financial governance processes.
- Advise stakeholders on cloud consumption optimization and FinOps best practices.
Networking & Infrastructure
- Design and implement secure Google Cloud networking architectures.
- Define foundational cloud infrastructure services and connectivity patterns.
- Ensure platform scalability, resilience, and operational excellence.
Implementation & Migration
- Automate platform deployment through Infrastructure as Code.
- Implement foundational cloud services and security controls.
- Support migration of existing workloads and use cases to the new Google Cloud platform.
- Guide and support delivery teams during implementation activities.

Must-Have Experience
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Cloud Foundations, Landing Zones, or similar enterprise cloud platforms.
