Our client is looking for a Senior System Design Engineer
Description
As a senior System Design Engineer, you have over 5 years of technical system experience to perform technical engineering services :
- You evaluate and translate requirements into design;
- You evaluate design benefits and trade-offs;
- You validate design compliance and support deployment of the design to ensure the requirements are met;
- You use development tools to efficiently solve technical or business challenges, incl. technology evolution, capacity management, and performance optimization;
- You innovate to present new ideas which improve an existing system/process/service;
- You maintain knowledge of existing technology documents via technical writing;
- You perform (complex) incident resolution and root cause analyses;
- On duty call for the systems you are responsible for, can be required.
Next to a proven experience in system software and IT infrastructure, you have the following core competences : Adaptive, Analytical thinking, Collaborating, Flexible, Result driven, Software development.
Your responsibilities
- Design, build and promote all the necessary technical components to obtain a stable and secure MS SQL database environment
- Follow up the market and evolutions of the MQ SQL Databases, together with de system Architect and Product Owner
- Follow up security recommendations (proactively and reactively) and minimize the operational risk
- You help the concerned teams with their operational issues : performance investigations, database stability, …
- You are able to modify and write scripts (t-SQL, powershell, perl)
- You work together with our offshore partner to ensure the first level operational quality.
- As you work for a Bank Company, you need to follow strict the security policies. (tools allowed to use, authorization policies, …)
- You participate in the on call organization and are willing to work outside business hours (mostly planned interventions)
Necessary technical knowledge/experience
- Sound knowledge of MS SQL 2019 and MS SQL 2022
- Knowledge of Windows 2019 and Windows 2022
- Knowledge of VMWare
- Knowledge of setup and troubleshooting SQL Server Always-On High Availability
- T-SQL, PowerShell, Python or Perl
- Experience with performance trouble shooting
- Good knowledge of SQL Backup functionalities.
