• Decarbonisation:
  • TSOs must ensure the on- and offshore system is designed and developed for timely integration of renewables and storage, while ensuring secure system operations.
  • A paradigm shift from a supplier-centric market design to a consumer-centric improved market design unlocking flexibility.
  • Customer obsession mindset: Get closer to customers to identify their needs, co-shape the energy transition, anticipate the impact of their electrification on the grid, and connect them faster.
  • Affordability & cost-efficiency: Secure and embed these in core activities to maximize welfare, control costs, ensure adequacy, secure system operations, and timely network development.

Business Architecture:

• Role:
  • Align Elia’s strategic objectives with operational capabilities.
  • Serve as a blueprint outlining the structure of the business, including processes, information, and systems.
  • Bridge the gap between strategy and execution, enabling the organization to translate high-level strategic goals into actionable initiatives.
  • Ensure optimal resource utilization, foster agility in responding to market changes, and identify opportunities for innovation.

Service Description:

Strategy Implementation and Transformation Office (SITO) Team:

• Composition:
  • Business analysts, portfolio managers, and program managers.
  • Business architects focusing on the CMS department.

Duties:

• Business Architecture:
  • Define the target Business Architecture of CMS in line with the vision/strategy defined by CMS management.
  • Define required Business Capabilities organized in Business Capability Maps.
• Information Strategy:
  • Elaborate and implement the Elia Information Strategy within CMS.
  • Identify and define Data Domains and assign Data Owners.
  • Define Conceptual Business Information models using Elia standard toolkits.
  • Determine required Business Capabilities to implement the target Information Architecture.
  • Identify business products and data products.
• Decision Making:
  • Contribute to/lead decision making via business architecture activities at all levels in the organization.
  • Support capability-driven steering and priority setting by providing capability heatmaps.
• Architecture Blueprints:
  • Lead initiatives to define and validate Architecture Blueprints in collaboration with Domain and Solution Architects.
  • Ensure alignment of CMS Business Architecture with other departments (Assets, Strategy, Infra, CDO office, 50Hz, IT).
  • Ensure alignment of IT architecture and IT roadmap with Business Architecture and Business Roadmap.
• Methodologies and Tools:
  • Actively contribute to refining architecture methodologies, frameworks, tools, and trainings.
  • Participate in meetings to ensure good implementation of targeted business and data architecture.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments.

Requirements:

• Degree in civil or commercial engineering or a master's degree in a scientific discipline.
• Knowledge of Customer, Markets and System activities (utilities sector) is a major advantage.
• Proven senior experience (more than 5 years) in business and information architecture in a similar role.
• Service-oriented with a view to ensuring continuity.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Solid knowledge of defining a Business Architecture framework and communicating it comprehensibly to different stakeholders.
• Understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD).
• Understanding of Software Integration Patterns, Platform technologies, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Meshes for fluent interaction with IT colleagues.
• Experience in UML, BPMN, and Archimate.
• Systemic mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Initiative-taking, independent working, and coordination of transversal initiatives.
• Fluent in French and Dutch, and proficient in English for international collaboration.
