Our client is seeking an experienced Market Analyst to support the monitoring and optimization of the Belgian energy markets. You will join a team focused on analyzing market behavior, developing reporting tools, and supporting key market transformations such as balancing mechanisms and congestion management.
You will contribute to the energy transition by generating insights through data analysis, reporting, and market observation. You will also support major developments such as integration with European platforms and the participation of innovative technologies like energy storage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing Power BI dashboards to monitor balancing, intraday, and day-ahead markets
- Analyzing market behavior, trends, and the impact of regulatory or operational changes
- Supporting the integration with a European balancing energy platform
- Monitoring the impact of recent changes in congestion management through structured reporting
- Investigating the role of energy storage in the market, including technical constraints
- Translating internal and external studies into actionable market intelligence
Your profile:
- Master’s degree in engineering or economics, or equivalent through experience
- At least 3 years of experience in an analytical or market analysis role
- Strong knowledge of Python, Power BI, and data analytics
- Interest in the energy sector and willingness to develop deep market knowledge
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on results
- Team player with a proactive and positive attitude
- Fluent in Dutch or French, and professional proficiency in English
