Our client is looking for a Senior Network and Security Engineer
As a Network and Security Engineer, you are responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and securing the network and security infrastructure. The role includes redesigning the current network to better suit modern needs, with a strong focus on a hybrid setup (on-premises and Azure). You will collaborate regularly with internal experts and external partners. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the data platform, making experience with system and data infrastructure a valuable asset.
- Improve, implement, and expand LANs, WANs, and cloud networks
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
- Optimize network performance and availability
Security Policy Development & Implementation
- Implement security measures and protocols to protect network infrastructure
- Monitor and respond to security incidents
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments
Cloud Integration
- Optimize the hybrid (on-prem + Azure) setup
- Manage cloud security and access control
Network Management
- Maintain network documentation and topologies
- Troubleshoot network issues and provide technical support
Collaboration
- Work with IT teams and departments to understand and support network requirements
- Participate in projects involving new technologies and solutions
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Network Management, Information Security, or a related field
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in network design and implementation
- Knowledge of network protocols, VPNs, firewalls, and network security
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly to network issues
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Languages
- English: Required
- Dutch and/or French: Comprehension required (preferably both)
Nice to Have
- Certifications: Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar
- Experience in high-security environments
- Experience with Azure
- Experience with system and data infrastructure
