Our client is looking for a Business Architect.
The Customers, Markets and System (CMS) department plays a pivotal role in supporting the transition to a carbon-neutral society by:
- Acting as a policy advisor and customer partner, placing the consumer at the center of the energy system of the future.
- Ensuring safe and optimized system operations through asset utilization, system understanding, automation, and the implementation of new market designs and pricing mechanisms.
Key Challenges:
- System Design & Integration: Ensuring timely integration of renewables and storage, both onshore and offshore, while maintaining secure operations.
- Market Paradigm Shift: Transitioning from a supplier-centric to a consumer-centric market design to unlock flexibility.
- Customer-Centricity: Deep engagement with customers to co-shape the energy transition and anticipate grid impacts.
- Affordability & Efficiency: Embedding cost-efficiency into core activities to maximize welfare and ensure system adequacy.

Business architecture is essential in aligning strategic goals with operational capabilities. It provides a structured blueprint of processes, systems, and information flows, enabling:

Service Description
As a Business Architect within the SITO team, you will focus on the CMS department and collaborate with business analysts, portfolio managers, and program managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the target Business Architecture for CMS aligned with strategic vision.
- Develop Business Capability Maps to support strategic execution.
- Implement the Information Strategy within CMS:
- Identify and define Data Domains and assign Data Owners
- Create Conceptual Business Information Models
- Determine capabilities needed for the target Information Architecture
- Identify business and data products
- Support capability-driven decision-making using tools like capability heatmaps.
- Lead the creation and validation of Architecture Blueprints in collaboration with Domain and Solution Architects.
- Ensure alignment with other departments (Assets, Strategy, Infra, IT, etc.).
- Align IT architecture and roadmaps with business needs.
- Contribute to the evolution of architecture methodologies, frameworks, and tools.
- Facilitate and participate in key meetings to ensure successful implementation.
- Stay informed on industry and technological developments.
Profile Requirements
- Master’s degree in civil/commercial engineering or a scientific discipline.
- Strong knowledge of CMS activities in the utilities sector is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in business and information architecture.
- Service-oriented and continuity-focused.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in defining and communicating Business Architecture frameworks.
- Solid understanding of:
- Domain Driven Design (DDD)
- Software Integration Patterns
- Platform technologies
- Data Warehouses, Lakes, and Meshes
- Experience with UML, BPMN, and Archimate is essential.
- Systemic thinker and strong communicator.
- Proactive, independent, and capable of coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
- Fluent in French and Dutch, with strong command of English for international collaboration.
