Our client is looking for a Solution Architect.
Beyond modeling application and information needs, you think at a higher level, integrating various internal client requirements into a concrete approach that considers topics such as data quality, data migration, and Master Data Management (MDM).
Key Responsibilities
1. Integration of Solutions
- Design and manage the integration and implementation architecture of proposed solutions.
- Ensure coherence with the overall enterprise architecture.
Example Activities:
- Define and describe high-level dialogue structures for interactive and batch components.
- Align designs with the project team and business sponsor.
- Ensure architectural board validation before implementation.
- Monitor that solutions are built according to the described architecture.
2. Project Support
- Support project managers and teams during solution development (design and execution).
- Ensure solutions are built in line with the defined architecture.
Example Activities:
- Adjust designs during execution.
- Report deviations from the architecture to project leaders and operational managers.
3. Solution Definition
- Define solutions based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Align and explain solutions to stakeholders.
Example Activities:
- Ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are met.
4. Solution Alternatives
- Analyze business requirements and develop alternative solutions to achieve the desired state of information systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Justify alternatives with arguments (e.g., cost, feasibility).
Example Activities:
- Define selection criteria and scenarios.
- Estimate costs and risks of proposed solutions and alternatives.
5. Architecture Principles and Standards
- Perform quality assurance checks (e.g., code reviews, audits).
- Promote and enforce architectural principles and standards.
Example Activities:
- Report deviations to the architecture board, project leads, delivery masters, sponsors, and QA managers.
- Propose improvements to evolve architecture principles and standards.
- Advocate for and ensure application of architectural standards.
Profile
Languages
- Dutch & French: At least good understanding; speaking is a strong asset.
- English: Required – understanding, speaking, reading, and writing.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of at least two of the following disciplines:
- Business Architecture
- Application Architecture
- Technical Architecture
- Information Architecture
- Strong communication skills (client-facing, management).
- Coaching skills (for project teams).
- Experience with model-driven approaches (UML, data modeling, process modeling).
- Interest in Master Data Management and data quality.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with PRINCE2.
- Experience with SCRUM.
- Experience with Jira.
- Experience with Enterprise Architect.
- Experience in the insurance sector.
