The Solution Analyst (SA) is responsible for analyzing and translating functional and non-functional requirements into functional/technical designs. This includes implementing and maintaining applications/configurations and providing end-user support within their scope. The SA works within the context of existing architecture, ongoing projects, and technical constraints.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Requirements
- Review and critically evaluate high-level business requirements.
- Prioritize and validate the Minimal Viable Product (MVP).
- Define and assess project scope.
- Translate high-level requirements into detailed user stories.
- Ensure functional understanding across stakeholders.
- Conduct impact and root cause analysis.
- Propose alternative solutions when necessary.
2. Functional Analysis
- Gather functional and technical information in low-documentation environments.
- Acquire necessary knowledge quickly to perform analysis.
- Collaborate with business representatives for system analysis.
- Organize and lead review cycles.
- Ensure quality of the functional phase (impact/gap analysis).
- Document analysis outcomes thoroughly.
3. Technical Design
- Perform technical system analysis.
- Validate technical analysis against functional requirements.
- Ensure system manageability and integration with existing IT landscape.
- Lead review cycles if needed.
- Adjust system parameters/configurations (e.g., tariff settings in databases).
4. Compliance with Standards
- Adhere to company standards.
- Monitor and ensure uniform application development practices.
5. Project Follow-Up
- Provide workload estimates for analysis, build, and testing phases.
- Lead daily meetings during sprints; act as Scrum Master substitute if needed.
- Support project management in alignment with priorities, budget, and timelines.
- Participate in all project phases, especially testing (System, UAT).
- Collaborate closely with Project Manager, Scrum Master, and Test Coordinator.
Languages
- Dutch/French: Native proficiency in one, good knowledge of the other.
- English: Good working knowledge.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Master’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years in a similar functional/technical role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Non-Life / Claims products.
- Experience in Mainframe / CICS environments.
- Broad insurance knowledge beyond Non-Life.
- Proficiency with Enterprise Architect & Jira.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Agile, proactive, and accurate work ethic.
- Stress-resistant and assertive.
- Experience with SCRUM methodology.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with commercial front-end applications.
- Knowledge of Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, Product, Portals, Batches, Integration).
