Our client is a major player in the European energy sector, currently undergoing a strategic transformation toward becoming a data-centric and data-driven organization. Data is at the heart of their innovation, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance efforts.
As part of this transformation, the corporate Digital & Data department is seeking a Data Advisor to help bridge the gap between business and data, enabling teams to unlock the full potential of their data assets.
Role Overview
The Data Advisor will work within product teams and across departments to improve data management practices, foster a data culture, and support the implementation of the organization’s data strategy. You will help define metadata, responsibilities, and discoverability frameworks, and contribute to the evolution of data governance based on real-world feedback.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide field-driven feedback to enhance Data Governance methodology.
- Analyze business needs and translate them into actionable data initiatives.
- Facilitate workshops and coach stakeholders (Data Owners, Stewards, Business & IT).
- Maintain and evolve the Business Glossary to ensure a common language across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on data-related goals.
- Advocate for “One Team for the Customer” and ensure business value creation.
What You Will NOT Be Doing
- Defining Data Governance methodology from scratch.
- Making business decisions independently.
- Managing data engineering or development teams.
- Designing or implementing technical architectures or systems.
Required Qualifications
Languages
- Fluent in English and either Dutch, French, or German.
Technical Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in:
- Data Governance
- Data Quality Management
- Metadata Management
- Master Data Management
- Additional experience in the following is a plus:
- Data Classification, Privacy & Security
- Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Big Data
- Data Modeling
- Data Integration & APIs
- Experience in the utilities or energy sector is an asset.
