The client, active in the energy sector, has launched a strategic program to support decision-making and digitalization. This led to the creation of the Smart Data Factory (SmDF) data team and platform. The BI Solution Designer will strengthen this team and help meet growing business demand for actionable insights
Purpose of the Role
The BI Solution Designer bridges business needs and technical solutions by:
- Capturing and documenting BI requirements
- Designing conceptual data models (e.g., star and snowflake schemas)
- Creating and maintaining BI solution blueprints
- Collaborating with Data/Analytics Engineers and BI Developers
- Participating in Agile ceremonies and prioritizing BI deliverables
- Validating BI solutions for accuracy, usability, and performance

Data Architecture Skills
Required:
- Strong ability to translate business needs into BI/data requirements
- Documentation of BI designs and business definitions
- Knowledge of reporting and visualization best practices
- Dimensional modeling expertise
- Data exploration, profiling, and analysis
- Experience designing scalable, governed BI datasets using Power BI
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving orientation
Considered a plus:
- Knowledge of Data Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture (Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog)
- Experience with dbt
- Familiarity with Data Governance processes and tools
- Agile practices (Scrum)
- Experience in the energy sector
- ESG reporting experience
Expertise
Proven success in delivering scalable BI solutions across diverse functional domains
Language Requirements
- Native speaker of French or Dutch
- Good understanding (reading and listening) of the other national language and English (B1 or higher)
