As a Business Analyst within SITO, you play a key role in the digital transformation of the Assets department. Elia is committed to significant improvements in efficiency and quality, while also supporting the energy transition, the rise of renewable energy, and the nuclear phase-out. Achieving these goals requires deep digitalization of our activities and support systems, as well as harmonization of processes between Elia and our German sister company, 50Hz.

The Assets department is primarily responsible for maintaining the high-voltage electricity grid and commissioning network expansions. Safety, quality, and efficiency are our core values.

As a Business Analyst, you will:

  • Design efficient business processes.
  • Capture business needs and translate them into specifications for IT systems.
  • Bridge the gap between business/users and IT partners (functional analysts, project managers, architects, etc.), challenging all parties to ensure optimal and pragmatic IT tool development and maintenance.

You will support digitalization projects for two data products:

  1. System Model: Combines data from the network model, default topology, grid user units, and asset records. This data is made available at various levels of detail to provide the organization with a single reliable source.
  2. GeoSpatial Data: A second data product focusing on processing, storing, and analyzing geospatial 

Key Responsibilities Model business processes and guide business teams in redesigning them.

  • Identify business needs and translate them into well-supported requirements (epics/features/user stories).
  • Challenge business stakeholders on their needs and future processes.
  • Develop business information models to support requirements (interfaces, screens, reports, migration, etc.).
  • Align and validate requirements with business and IT.
  • Validate IT’s functional analysis.
  • Post-implementation: test and validate releases, support UAT.
  • Actively contribute to change management: create training materials, deliver training sessions, and support users using the change management methodology and toolkit.
  • Provide post-implementation support for IT tools.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a technical or economic field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Strong analytical skills and a critical mindset; you’re not afraid to challenge assumptions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work independently and in teams; capable of building consensus and convincing stakeholders.
  • Skilled in planning and organization.
  • Highly customer-oriented and flexible.
  • Knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and UML Class Diagrams.
  • Experience with EA (Enterprise Architect), Jira & DevOps is a plus.
  • Experience in the electricity sector is an asset.
  • Experience with asset reference systems is a plus.
  • Experience with GIS technology is a strong plus.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing). Very good command of Dutch or French (speaking, reading, writing); understanding of the second national language is required.

Assignment Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: Initial contract until January 2027, extendable due to long-term nature of the assignment.
