Our client is looking for a Data Governance Officer
Description
The Data Office is a newly established department outside of IT, with the primary mission of generating business value from data. It is structured into three complementary units:
- Data Squad: A team of data scientists dedicated to advanced data exploration and exploitation.
- Data Service: A team responsible for producing industrialized reports and BI solutions.
- Data Governance: A team in charge of defining data usage standards, ensuring data quality, and compliance.
In this context, we are looking for a Data Governance & AI Officer to strengthen and develop the Data Governance unit. This strategic role aims to build a robust and scalable data governance framework, closely aligned with regulatory, technological, and business challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing a comprehensive data governance framework: documentation of policies, guidelines, roles, and responsibilities.
- Building a business glossary including business metadata.
- Defining golden sources, ensuring their traceability, and integrating them into a data catalog.
- Developing a data quality framework: centralizing quality rules, calculating scores, and communicating via dashboards.
- Linking with the GDPR register and the quality register.
- Establishing a governance framework for AI models, in compliance with the EU AI Act.
- Participating in the selection and implementation project of a new data governance and data quality tool.
This role is central to the organization’s data transformation, with strong strategic, regulatory, and technological dimensions.
Skills
- Language : English fluent
- Proven experience in building a data governance and data quality framework
- Proven experience in drafting foundational documents (policies, guidelines)
- Proven experience with a data governance tool
- Language skills : French or Dutch fluent, with a good level on the 2nd language
- Proven experience in Data Governance
- Proven experience in RFP process (Request for Proposal)
- Soft skill : during a potential interview, the candidate demonstrates excellent communication and negociation skills, as well as ability to provide a strategic vision.
- Education : Master degree
- Proven experience in data regulations (Data Act, GDPR)
- Proven experience in implementing the EU AI Act
- Proven experience in implementation of a Data Governance tool
- Proven experience in the Energy or Financial sector
