Description
As a Senior DB Developer (Oracle, …), you will have the opportunity to contribute to technically and functionally challenging projects. The projects you will work on are crucial for the continuity and performance of the company's core business activities. These projects involve consolidating and distributing information related to railway traffic management (pre-processing, real-time, post-processing, back-office) to B2B stakeholders, specifically:
Externally to our organization:
- Railway companies operating or transiting on our network;
- Foreign infrastructure managers;
- European platforms for railway information consolidation, such as RailNetEurope.
Internally to our organization:
- Real-time visualization of schedule changes for our signal box staff;
- Calculation of fees and billing for the use of our network by clients;
- Calculation of electricity consumption related to our activities;
- Feeding expert systems such as BigData.
You will be involved in both new developments and corrective/evolutionary maintenance of existing applications. As a highly technological company, we greatly value your technical capabilities. Your mission scope includes:
- Designing and validating 3NF data models based on functional analysis;
- Designing and validating data models following the Data Vault model, Star Schema, or others based on functional analysis;
- Implementing the data model and business logic in SQL and PL/SQL;
- Ensuring code quality and promotion management across various environments (dev, test, acc, prod);
- Analyzing and improving application/DB performance;
- Leading a small team, delegating tasks, discussing approaches with colleagues, and reporting progress to other technical teams, the project manager, and the team leader.
Technical skills
- Relevant experience as Oracle DB Developer (L4: at least 10 years)
- Relevant experience as Oracle 19C Developer (L2: at least 2 years)
- Relational modeling via ERD and application of normalization principles (3NF) (L4: at least 10 years)
- Design of database architectures according to Data Vault and Star Schema models (L4: at least 10 years)
- SQL & PL/SQL development (L4: at least 10 years)
- Use of GIT as Source Code Manager (SCM) (L3: at least 5 years)
- Use of Scrum/Agile methodology (L3: at least 5 years)
- Optimization of SQL & PL/SQL queries (L3: at least 5 years)
- Use of Jira (L3: at least 5 years)
- Relevant experience in peer-reviewing (L3: at least 5 years)
- Relevant experience in documenting implemented solutions (L3: at least 5 years)
- Relevant experience in managing and organizing work for a development team (min. 3 people, including the candidate) (L3: at least 5 years)
- Management and validation of scripts in various environments (dev, test, acc, prod) (L3: at least 5 years)
- General database management (security, tablespace, schema, …) (L2: at least 2 years)
- Mastery of Dutch or French (first language): C2 level required
- Mastery of the second national language (other than the one mentioned above): at least A2 level required
- English: B2 level
