Our client is looking for a BI Finance Solution Designer

Data is a key enabler of our client's overarching strategy. To support decision-making and digitalization within the group, the “Smart Data Factory” (SmDF) program was launched, creating a dedicated data team and platform. The company is seeking a BI Finance Solution Designer to strengthen the SmDF team and meet the growing demand for actionable insights.
This role bridges the gap between Finance business needs and technical solutions by designing data models and BI solutions that enable smarter and faster decision-making.
Purpose of the Role
- Engage with business stakeholders to capture, refine, and document BI requirements in a clear and actionable format.
- Act as the key point of contact between business teams and technical developers (Data/Analytics Engineers, BI Developers).
- Design high-quality conceptual data models tailored for analytics, such as star and snowflake schemas.
- Develop and maintain a BI solution blueprint outlining data sources, transformation processes, and visualization specifications.
- Collaborate with Data/Analytics Engineers to ensure data pipelines deliver accurate, well-structured, and timely datasets.
- Work closely with BI Developers to ensure semantic models, dashboards, and reports align with agreed-upon designs and standards.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives) and contribute to prioritization of BI deliverables.
- Review and validate BI solutions to confirm they meet business requirements and deliver accuracy, usability, and optimal performance.

Required Data Skills
- Expertise in designing financial reporting and dashboarding solutions on top of SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling, combined with non-SAP data warehousing and BI technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Finance business processes supported by SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling: General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Asset Accounting, etc.
- Ability to translate business needs into BI/data requirements.
- Experience documenting BI solution designs, data models, and business definitions for technical and business audiences.
- Strong knowledge of reporting and data visualization design best practices.
- Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling.
- Data exploration, profiling, and analysis skills.
- Extensive experience designing scalable, governed BI datasets and solutions using Power BI.
- Analytical thinking with problem-solving orientation.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Budgeting & Forecasting processes and solutions.
- Knowledge of Data Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture best practices for Azure Databricks, including governance enforcement with Unity Catalog.
- Knowledge of dbt.
- Experience with Data Governance processes and tools.
- Knowledge of Agile practices (Scrum).
- Previous experience in the Energy sector.
Expertise
- Demonstrated success in delivering scalable Finance BI solutions across diverse functional domains.
Language Requirements
- Native speaker in French or Dutch.
- Good understanding (reading and listening) of the other national language and English (B1 or higher).
