The Assets directorate is mainly responsible for maintaining the high‑voltage grid and commissioning grid extensions. Safety, quality and efficiency are our core values.
The current request focuses on projects in the area of remote maintenance and predictive maintenance. Key words include Industrial Internet of Things, Machine2Machine, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence. In addition to the classic tasks of a business analyst, this position requires openness to innovative technologies – both in ICT (communication, AI, etc.) and hardware (sensors, actuators, smart assets, etc.) – and the ability to analyse their potential.
The Business Analyst Service is responsible for defining efficient business processes. Furthermore, he/she captures the business needs and translates them into business requirements for IT systems. The BA acts as a bridge between the business and users on the one hand, and the various IT partners (functional analyst, project manager, architect, etc.) on the other, challenging all parties. It is crucial to have a deep understanding of how the business operates and what its needs are; the functional analyses themselves are carried out by IT.
We are looking for an experienced and mature business analyst who can not only analyse and improve processes, but above all identify the impact of changes across different processes and systems. He/she must be able to capture and describe business needs and translate them for IT (functional analysts, architects, etc.).
Tasks
- Modelling business processes and guiding the business when redesigning their processes.
- Performing impact analyses.
- Developing context diagrams, business domain models and user stories / use cases.
- Defining business needs related to IT tools that support these processes, and creating guidelines for using these tools.
- Challenging the business regarding their needs and the to‑be processes.
- Aligning and validating requirements between/with the business and IT.
- Validating the functional analysis produced by IT.
- Supporting data quality initiatives and data migrations.
- Testing and validating releases after tool implementation.
- Playing an active role in change initiatives, including drafting training material and delivering training to end users, in accordance with the existing change management methodology supported by the change management toolkit.
- Supporting the business during post‑implementation usage of the IT tools.
Requirements
- Master’s degree, preferably in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience capturing and describing business needs.
- At least 5 years of experience analysing and modelling business processes.
- Experience modelling information needs within business processes.
- Knowledge of IoT, AI or other relevant technologies is an asset.
- Experience with maintenance of industrial assets is an asset.
- Knowledge of preparing and executing a test plan.
- Experience creating training materials for end users.
- Trilingual: Dutch/French/English.
- Strong analytical skills and a critical mindset.
