Context of the mission / Objective(s) of the job
The Information Systems (IS) IS Life, which is responsible for delivering and maintaining systems and applications for supporting the life business division within the company, is looking for a hands-on functional designer with good collaborative skills adapted to the different stakeholders on projects (Business/IS/Testing team). He/she will contribute to the analysis of applications subscribing new contracts and initiating modifications on existing contracts; managing the complete contract portfolio, taking care of tariffs, management acts, funds and reserves calculations, daily Money-in (premiums) and Money-out (claims & settlements), …
The Core applications are developed using Cobol under µfocus / SQL databases, and involves interacting with various distributed technologies C#/.NET, API for Front-end, printing or communication components towards Brokers, Banks…
In his/her role, he/she will receive high-level functional requirements for setting up robust IT applications, analyse them and design IT solutions. The solution will cover assets such as user interface, business logic, data base architecture, etc. The candidate will also follow up on the implementation of his designs and participate in testing. The candidate will work autonomously and will interact directly with the IS Project Manager to agree on scope and milestones, and he/she will report progress to IS stakeholders. The functional designer should also be able to have a look in the codes and generates SQL on demand.
Proven experience with functional analysis, user interface design, testing in an Insurance IT environment.
The candidate will be working in a dynamic and innovative context. He will be able to work on up to 3 projects at the same time. It will require good organizational skills. He will join a young team where he can help shape solutions in a fast growing domain.

Level of education required
Master or Engineer in IT or in a scientific domain with IT interest or proven 5 years’ experience as Functional Designer in similar domain.
Bachelor with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical analysis.

Objective of the job
Main objectives:
- Be in charge of translating business requirements into a structured IT solution while keeping a functional approach.
- Help translating this functional design into well-tailored technical design.
- Prepare functional integration test cases based on the requirements
- Test the product before delivery to the users
- Analyse potential corrective actions to be taken.
- Coordinate technical designers and programmers during implementation of functionalities
- Work closely with the business to ensure the final solution fits their needs.
- Actively support the Project leaders in the project implementation
