Our client is looking for a Platform Engineer (AWS EKS / Kubernetes)
About the Role
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our Cloud infrastructure team and help build, operate, and evolve our Amazon EKS-based Kubernetes platform.
This role focuses on developing and maintaining the infrastructure that enables engineering and data teams to reliably deploy and run applications at scale.
You will work closely with application, data, and infrastructure teams to improve platform reliability, security, and developer experience.
Responsibilities
Kubernetes & EKS Platform
- Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) clusters in production environments
- Manage Kubernetes upgrades, cluster lifecycle, and node group scaling
- Implement cluster networking, ingress controllers, and network integrations
- Optimize Kubernetes resource utilization and cost in collaboration with the FinOps manager
Platform Automation
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform (OpenTofu)
- Automate cluster provisioning, upgrades, and environment setup
- Create reusable platform components for application teams
CI/CD & Developer Platform
- Enable seamless application deployment to EKS via CI/CD pipelines (GitHub)
- Develop platform tooling that improves developer productivity
- Support GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, 3scale etc.)
Observability & Reliability
- Implement logging, metrics, and monitoring for platform services
- Improve platform reliability through automation and SRE practices
- Manage alerting and incident response related to the platform
Security & Governance
- Implement Kubernetes security best practices
- Manage IAM roles, RBAC policies, and network security
- Ensure compliance with internal security standards
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, particularly Amazon EKS
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu preferred)
- Experience with container technologies
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions)
- Experience operating production K8s infrastructure
Nice to have Qualifications
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Experience with Azure services
- Experience building internal developer platforms
- Knowledge of observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Alloy, etc.)
- Experience with OpenShift
- Experience with maintaining self-deployed Airflow
- Experience with Kafka (MSK)
