Our client is looking for an Enterprise Data Architect
Description
As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will ensure that enterprise data is consistently, correctly, securely and efficiently handled across the entire application landscape. You will act as the guardian of data integrity and coherence by defining where data should be created, maintained, and consumed within each business capability. You will define guidelines and help documenting data flows between applications, promote common architectural patterns, validate information models, and ensure alignment between business processes, information models, and system responsibilities.
By collaborating closely with business stakeholders, product owners, analysts and architects, you will help maintain reliable, transparent, and fit for purpose data structures, semantics, and usage across the organization.
Drawing on your previous experience, you will strengthen the organisation’s ability to rely on clean, consistent, and authoritative data across all applications.
Your Responsibilities
- Translate the business strategy into target data architectures, ensuring long-term scalability and adaptability.
- Build and maintain the Business Information Model (BIM) by defining core business entities, their relationships, and consistent data definitions across the enterprise.
- Map the BIM to existing applications to clarify where data is created, mastered, transformed, and consumed within the current landscape.
- Review and assess data flows between systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and proper alignment with business capabilities.
- Maintain modeling and naming standards and data normalization, metadata management and data lineage by documenting source to target data mapping.
- Guide the successful execution of data architecture vision through adoption of governance principles and practices.
- Review existing architecture and propose improvements to align with the target data architecture.
- Document and communicate data architecture standards, helping teams adopt coherent patterns for modeling, sourcing, and sharing data across applications.
- Work closely together with other architects to align all aspects of architecture.
About you
- A master's degree (civil engineering, commercial engineering or any scientific orientation).
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, and enterprise information management.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- The ability to create, maintain and explain modelling diagrams and functional documentation.
- Strong expertise with data modeling techniques (conceptual, logical, physical).
- Experience in MDM, metadata management, data quality frameworks, and governance tooling.
- Ability to design enterprise-wide data domains, canonical models, and shared data services.
- Understanding of integration patterns, APIs, ETL/ELT, data virtualisation, and streaming technologies.
- Good understanding of data security, privacy regulations (GDPR), and compliance principles.
- Certifications such as TOGAF, DAMA, ITIL, AWS/Azure, MDM, or Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
- Familiarity with the utility/energy sector (e.g., asset management, metering, field operations).
- Exposure to enterprise architecture tools (e.g., Sparx Enterprise Architect).
- Multilingual capabilities (FR/NL/EN).
