General Role
The Senior Data Business Analyst, reporting to the Finance and Commercial Directorate, plays a central role in transforming data into performance drivers. The mission is to understand business needs and structure functional requirements in order to design data solutions that improve performance, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
The role acts as an interface between business, data, and IT teams, with a high level of autonomy.
Main Responsibilities
Business Needs Analysis and Functional Scoping
- Gather, clarify, and formalize stakeholder requirements.
- Facilitate scoping and clarification workshops.
- Translate business needs into functional and data requirements.
- Prioritize requests based on business value and technical constraints.
Data Modeling and Data Management
- Participate in defining data models and information flows.
- Contribute to improving data quality, consistency, and governance.
- Collaborate with IT and business data experts to ensure data availability and reliability.
Analysis and Insight Generation
- Perform quantitative analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Design relevant KPIs and dashboards tailored to business needs.
- Provide concrete recommendations based on analytical results.
Coordination and Communication
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and business teams.
- Present results in a clear, concise, and action-oriented manner.
- Support users in adopting data tools and solutions.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Identify opportunities to optimize business processes through data.
- Contribute to the company’s data roadmap.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives (automation, data quality, data governance, etc.).
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Data analysis, SQL, and understanding of data models and data flows
- Knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) and KPI definition
- Understanding of data architectures (data warehouse, data lake, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand data models
- Basic knowledge of statistics and data science (a plus)
Functional Skills
- Writing functional specifications and user stories
- Knowledge of business processes and ability to challenge requirements
- Ability to propose appropriate and value-driven solutions
- Experience in project management or agile methodologies
