Our client is looking for a Storage Engineer
Context
One of our customers is looking for a Storage Engineer to reinforce their teams in Belgium (south of Brussels) or The Netherlands (north of The Hague) for a long term mission of 6 months, extendable up to 12 months, either parttime for 3 days/week or fulltime.
Main delivery will have to be delivered onsite in BE or NL.
Part-time remote might be possible later on, while the customer has gained trust in the engineer.
Customer will require a screening/vetting of the candidate, so somebody holding a Security Clearance (Belgian Defense, NATO, EU, …) might be much quicker onboarded.
- The Role: Agile Storage Squad system engineer
- Agile Delivery: Active participation in an Agile Storage Squad, contributing to sprints and stand-ups to ensure high-availability infrastructure.
- Rigorous Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to compliance and audit standards, maintaining detailed documentation for every change and incident.
Technical Skills & Expertise
- SAN Infrastructure: Expert management of HPE XP8 arrays and Brocade SAN switches (zoning, provisioning, tuning).
- Multi-Platform Integration: Advanced LUN mapping and connectivity for VMware and RHEL workloads.
- Full-Stack Troubleshooting: OS-level diagnostics (Linux/Windows) for third-party storage management software.
- Security & Encryption: Practical application of TLS certificates and fundamental security hardening principles.
- Object Storage (is a Plus): Hands-on experience with Cloudian or S3-compatible storage solutions.
Key Activities
- Operational Maintenance: Execute proactive patching, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle refreshes across the storage estate.
- Change & Incident Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of system changes and incidents within a highly monitored environment.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and tune the storage environment to meet strict financial-grade SLAs
