Objectives of the assignment
- Set up an integrated planning mechanism (maintenance plus projects)
- Improve capacity planning of resources (human resources in the first instance and, where applicable, material resources)
- Increase the reliability of workload and allocation forecasts
- Support management decision-making (trade-offs, prioritisation, recruitment, outsourcing)
Scope and responsibilities
- Analysis of the current situation: planning processes, tools, workload and capacity data
- Mapping of activities (preventive, corrective, predictive maintenance, projects, unforeseen tasks)
- Definition of planning rules (planning horizons, granularity, priorities, buffers)
- Implementation of a capacity management model:
- workload versus capacity per team, skill and period
- identification of bottlenecks
- Realisation of a planning solution
- Implementation of key indicators (workload ratio, utilisation rate, adherence to planning, deviations)
- Support for managers and planners in adopting the methods
- Organisational recommendations and a roadmap for continuous improvement
Expected deliverables
- Structured diagnosis of planning and capacity
- Target planning model (process plus solution)
- Usable workload/capacity tables
- Standardised indicators and reporting
- Operational recommendations and an action plan
Required profile
- Proven expertise in planning, capacity management and resource allocation
- Experience in environments involving maintenance, technical services and projects
- Ability to work with operational teams
- Pragmatic and results-oriented approach
- Mastery of planning and workload analysis tools
Technical skills
- In-depth experience (including customising) of the SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) module
- Capacity planning per work centre
- Use of calendars, task lists and loads
- Load/capacity analysis
- Coordination of maintenance and resource availability
- Configuration of overhaul planning
- Planning of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance
- Management of maintenance orders (L3: at least 5 years of experience)
- Experience with the SAP PS (Project System) module
- Project structuring (WBS)
- Planning of activities and milestones
- Allocation of resources to projects
- Monitoring of workload, costs and deadlines
- Integration of projects and maintenance (L3: at least 5 years of experience)
- Understanding of integration within maintenance and project planning carried out by contractors/external firms (capacity management perspective) (L3: at least 5 years of experience)
- Experience in drafting functional specifications and facilitating workshops (L3: at least 5 years of experience)
- Language 1: Dutch or French (C2: full professional proficiency)
- Language 2: Dutch or French (other than language 1) (B1: intermediate level)
- Language 3: English, mainly from a technical point of view (B2: upper-intermediate level)
Soft skills
- The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of Infrabel, the IT world and an understanding of the challenges of the requested role, as well as an understanding of Infrabel’s mission and core activities
