Our client is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer you are responsible for designing, building, and governing end‑to‑end data solutions that enable reliable reporting, analytics, and decision‑making. The role covers the full BI lifecycle, including data ingestion, transformation, modelling, and delivery of high‑quality datasets and insights to business and operational stakeholders.
As a senior profile, the role combines strong technical expertise with data governance, quality assurance, and stakeholder interaction. The Senior BI Engineer plays a key role in establishing standards, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring that BI solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- You design, build, and operate end‑to‑end BI solutions, including ETL pipelines, data models, and reporting datasets.
- You integrate data from operational systems into analytical platforms in a controlled and auditable manner.
- You develop and maintain modern Business Intelligence platforms datasets, KPIs, and dashboards aligned with People ID operational and compliance needs.
- You enforce data quality, consistency, and governance standards.
- You support operational reporting obligations related to availability, volumes, SLAs, and service performance.
- You act as senior BI reference, supporting Operations and mentoring BI engineers.
Required Profile
- You have strong experience in SQL, ETL, DBT and analytical data modeling.
- You have proven hands‑on experience with modern Business Intelligence platforms (ex. Power BI, Tableau,…) including data transformation, semantic modelling, and analytical expressions.
- You have experience working in operational, mission‑critical, or regulated environments.
- You are structured, have an ownership‑oriented mindset with strong stakeholder communication skills.
Education & Experience
- You have a bachelor or master degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- You have several years of proven experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics roles, including senior‑level responsibilities.
- Due to the international character of our team, the common language is English and you need to reach a decent level, preferably B2-level or higher.
Positioning
- Role operates under Operations.
- Direct contribution to service governance, operational transparency, and customer reporting within People ID programs.
- Our places of work are in Evere (near the NATO building) and Ruisbroek (BXL) where our production machines are located.
