Data Pipeline Analyst

This position is open at our client in the railway sector.

Main Tasks

The mission will combine data analysis, semantic modelling (linked data), understanding of data pipelines, and management of small-scale data projects, in close collaboration with the business, Data & Digital, and ICT teams.

a. Scoping and project management

  • Identify and analyse the data, analysis, and semantic structuring needs of operational stakeholders.
  • Define the scope, objectives, deliverables, and planning of small to medium-scale data projects (data pipelines, analyses, light automations), integrating the principles of data reuse and interoperability.
  • Monitor progress, ensure functional coordination of the actors involved, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with scope, deadlines, and quality of deliverables.

b. Data, data pipeline, and semantic model analysis

  • Analyse existing data flows, their sources, their transformations, and the associated data models.
  • Design, analyse, and evolve semantic data models (linked data – RDF, OWL) in order to guarantee the consistency, interoperability, and reusability of data.

c. Reporting

  • Develop reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboards adapted to operational users.
  • Validate the relevance and usability of results with stakeholders.

d. Cross-functional coordination and collaboration

  • Act as a functional interface between the business, Data & Digital, and ICT teams.
  • Facilitate working workshops, clarify needs, and support decision-making.
  • Contribute to the alignment of data initiatives with the Data & Digital roadmap and existing standards.

e. Documentation and knowledge transfer

  • Document analyses, functional choices, data models, and deliverables using architecture tools such as SPARX Enterprise Architect.
  • Formalise best practices related to analyses, semantic modelling, and the use of data pipelines.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer to internal teams in order to strengthen their autonomy.

Technical Skills

  • Data extraction, transformation, and analysis from multiple systems. (L2: minimum 2 years of experience)
  • Reporting and visualisation: ability to produce reports, KPIs, and dashboards understandable for operational users. (L2: minimum 2 years of experience)
  • Practical experience with SPARX Enterprise Architect for modelling data structures, data flows, and architectures, and for the structured and maintainable documentation of data solutions. (L2: minimum 2 years of experience)

Languages

  • Fluent French or Dutch (C1 — complex proficiency)
  • Passive knowledge of the other language (A2 — basic knowledge)

Soft Skills

  1. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of the railway sector, the IT world, and an understanding of the challenges of the requested function. They must also understand the mission and key activities of our client in the railway sector.
  2. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to integrate into the teams of our client in the railway sector, notably through the values of benevolence, courage, positivity, and reliability.
  3. The candidate must demonstrate competencies inherent to the requested function within the ICT department, namely: presentation skills, a professional attitude, correctness and respect towards management, clear and effective communication, and responsible commitment for the duration of the contract.
