Description
The Project Lead AI is responsible for the coordination and steering of several projects related to artificial intelligence within the organisation.
He/she is involved in:
- projects developed internally within the AI & Emerging ICT team
- projects carried out in other departments, ensuring a role of coordination, alignment and governance
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure the cross-functional coordination of several AI projects (planning, prioritisation, dependencies)
- Set up and monitor project governance (committees, reporting, KPIs)
- Guarantee alignment with ICT strategy and internal standards (architecture, data, security)
- Facilitate collaboration between technical teams (data scientists, engineers) and business teams
- Support project teams during scoping, delivery and production deployment phases
- Identify risks, arbitrate priorities and propose action plans
- Ensure budget follow-up and respect of deadlines
- Promote best practices in AI project management (Agile, MLOps, AI lifecycle)
- Ensure clear communication with stakeholders (management, business, IT)
- Actively participate in the scoping of AI projects (needs identification, definition of objectives, feasibility analysis)
- Define and formalise project scope (functional and technical scope, expected deliverables, assumptions)
- Challenge business requests to ensure relevance, business value and technical feasibility
- Structure AI use cases (prioritisation, success criteria, expected ROI)
- Ensure a clear definition of responsibilities, dependencies and milestones from the start of the projects
Technical skills
- Management of complex IT projects (Agile / Waterfall) (L3: minimum 5 years of experience)
- Multi-project coordination and portfolio management (L3: minimum 5 years of experience)
- Experience in project governance (committees, reporting, KPIs) (L3: minimum 5 years of experience)
- Experience in data or AI projects (L2: minimum 2 years of experience)
- Experience in projects where communication and facilitation skills were of critical importance (L3: minimum 5 years of experience)
- Planning, prioritisation management and budget follow-up (L3: minimum 5 years of experience)
- Risk management and problem solving (L3: minimum 5 years of experience)
- Knowledge of tools such as Jira / Confluence / Azure DevOps (L3: minimum 5 years of experience)
- Stakeholder management (IT & business) (L3: minimum 5 years of experience)
- Experience in project scoping (needs analysis, scope definition, drafting business and functional requirements) (L3: minimum 5 years of experience)
- Acquired understanding of the lifecycle of an AI project (data collection, training, validation, deployment, monitoring) (L2: minimum 2 years of experience)
- Awareness of data quality issues (data quality, bias, availability) (L2: minimum 2 years of experience)
- Ability to integrate legal and ethical constraints into AI projects (L1: at least some experience)
- Language 1: French or Dutch (C1: advanced proficiency)
- Language 2: French or Dutch (other than language 1) (B1: intermediate level)
- Language 3: English (B2: upper intermediate level)
Soft skills
- The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of Infrabel, the IT world, and understand the challenges of the requested role. He must also understand the mission and key activities of Infrabel.
