Business analyst – SCADA

Our client is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support the implementation of a new SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) platform.

The project is already in the execution phase, so the successful consultant must be able to quickly integrate into the project organization, understand the business context, and contribute across multiple workstreams from day one.

Acting as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, you will play a central role in ensuring business requirements are translated into efficient processes, high-quality testing, and successful user adoption.

Responsibilities

Business Process Analysis

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and the implementation partner to define and document future (“to-be”) business processes.
  • Ensure documented processes are aligned with the organization’s enterprise process architecture.
  • Analyze business needs and translate them into clear functional requirements.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Prepare User Acceptance Test (UAT) scenarios and test documentation in collaboration with business teams and the test governance team.
  • Identify and prepare the data required for testing activities.
  • Coordinate and support UAT execution, ensuring business validation of the delivered solution.

Training & Change Support

  • Develop end-user training materials and supporting documentation.
  • Define business scenarios and demonstration data for training sessions.
  • Deliver training sessions together with the implementation partner to ensure successful user adoption.

Additional Contributions

  • Depending on project priorities and planning, contribute to other business analysis activities or related project deliverables.

Project Context

As part of a major digital transformation initiative supporting the evolution of the energy sector, our client is deploying a next-generation SCADA platform.

The new solution will significantly enhance network monitoring and operational capabilities while supporting the challenges of the energy transition.

Beyond traditional real-time network supervision and control, the platform will introduce advanced capabilities to:

  • Increase network capacity.
  • Optimize the integration of renewable energy sources.
  • Support the growing adoption of electric vehicles.
  • Facilitate the integration of heat pumps into the energy network.
  • Contribute to European energy transition objectives.
  • Improve the management of medium-voltage, low-voltage, and gas distribution networks.

Required Profile

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on large-scale IT transformation projects.
  • Experience working on complex, multi-stream projects.
  • Strong business process analysis and documentation skills.
  • Experience preparing and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Ability to produce training materials and deliver end-user training.
  • Excellent communication skills with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex business environments and become operational.
