Our client is looking for a Business and Functional Analyst – Communication
Context
Within the product DWP Communication, we are seeking a Business and functional Analyst to support the review and migration of websites (OneCMS initiative). The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, refining and documenting business-, functional and non-functional requirements to ensure a smooth transition of websites to the new platform.
Aside from the analysis for the migration of the websites, some smaller parallel tasks within the Product’s scope might also be requested, such as the requirement engineering for new solutions, solutions assessments, etc.
This role requires strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Our client is looking for an experienced Business & Functional Analyst to support a strategic website migration initiative (OneCMS). The objective is to ensure a smooth migration of multiple websites towards a new CMS platform by analyzing, refining, documenting, and validating business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
In addition to website migration activities, the consultant may support other initiatives within the Digital Workplace Communication domain, including solution assessments, requirements engineering, and the implementation of new digital solutions.
Responsibilities
Requirements Engineering
- Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business objectives, website needs, and user expectations.
- Collaborate closely with UX designers to translate stakeholder needs into solution requirements.
- Refine requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlog items.
- Document future website functionalities, content structures, integrations, and migration requirements.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement throughout the migration process.
- Ensure full traceability between business requirements, functional specifications, and technical implementation.
Website Migration & Solution Analysis
- Support the planning and execution of website migration activities.
- Analyze existing website structures, content, integrations, and functionalities.
- Contribute to migration plans, roadmaps, and delivery timelines.
- Perform solution assessments and feasibility analyses.
- Support requirements definition for additional digital solutions within the product scope.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Developers, UX/UI Designers, Testers, Content Teams, and Architects.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and solution discussions.
- Support iterative solution design and validation activities.
- Ensure proposed solutions are realistic, aligned with business goals, and compliant with architectural guidelines.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define and support test scenarios and test cases.
- Validate that migrated websites meet business and functional requirements.
- Perform requirements validation and solution testing.
- Facilitate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Ensure compliance with branding guidelines, accessibility standards, and regulatory requirements.
Training & Hypercare
- Deliver training sessions to end-users and key stakeholders.
- Support key users and Service Desk teams after go-live.
- Provide functional support during the hypercare and stabilization phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst and/or Functional Analyst.
- Experience in website migration, CMS implementations, or digital transformation projects.
- Strong experience in requirements engineering and stakeholder management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in environments with ambiguity and changing priorities.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of web technologies and website ecosystems.
- Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Knowledge of content migration processes and digital platforms.
- Understanding of SEO principles and digital best practices.
- Familiarity with usability and accessibility standards.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps and Confluence.

- Knowledge of German is considered an asset.
