Our client is looking for a Team Leader & Transition Manager Service to support a strategic transformation within its IT organization.

Operating in a critical infrastructure environment, our client plays an essential role in ensuring the reliability, sustainability, and evolution of the energy ecosystem. As part of a major transformation initiative, the organization is seeking an experienced leader to drive both operational excellence and organizational change.

Working alongside internal teams and external specialists, you will contribute to the development of a modern, efficient, and future-oriented IT architecture function that supports the organization's long-term objectives.

Service Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Team Leader and Transition Manager with a strong background in Enterprise and Solution Architecture.

The mission combines two key responsibilities:

  1. Leading and supporting the Solution Architecture team, ensuring consistent delivery quality, governance, and operational effectiveness.
  2. Managing an organizational transition, bringing together Architecture and Product teams into a unified operating model within a three-month timeframe.

In addition, the consultant will contribute to the definition and implementation of a renewed enterprise architecture operating model.

Experience within the Energy & Utilities sector is considered an asset, as is previous involvement in organizational transformations and merger-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Transition Management

  • Define and implement, together with the Enterprise Architecture function, the target governance model and decision-making framework.
  • Clarify roles, responsibilities, and interactions between Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor the transition plan while ensuring continuity of ongoing deliveries.
  • Identify and remove organizational, process, and stakeholder-related obstacles.
  • Facilitate the integration of Architecture and Product teams by building trust, encouraging collaboration, and accelerating adoption of new ways of working.
  • Drive team cohesion and create momentum to ensure the merged organization rapidly becomes operational, effective, and self-sustaining.
  • Provide leadership with regular progress updates, risks, recommendations, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support the establishment of a new architecture operating model as part of the Enterprise Architecture team.

Team Lead – Solution Architecture

  • Coordinate and manage Solution Architects working across projects, products, and digital initiatives.
  • Manage architecture requests, planning, and resource assignments through the Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) tool.
  • Participate in the IT Architecture Steering Group.
  • Define and enforce standards for architecture deliverables, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Oversee operational architecture activities, including issue management, alerts, and problem resolution.
  • Act as a facilitator between business and IT stakeholders and translate strategic vision into actionable plans.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement within the architecture community.

Required Experience & Skills

Mandatory

  • More than 10 years of experience in transition management and project management.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong results-oriented mindset.
  • Extensive experience with IT processes, governance frameworks, and methodologies such as:
    • ITIL
    • TOGAF
    • ArchiMate
    • Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture principles and patterns.
  • Ability to promote and govern reference architectures.
  • Experience with:
    • Microservices architectures
    • Event-driven architectures
  • Familiarity with Gartner architecture methodologies and frameworks (e.g. TIME model for Application Portfolio Management).
  • Experience with architecture modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect or equivalent solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Dutch and/or French.

Preferred

  • Experience in the Energy & Utilities sector.
  • Experience leading organizational transformation, integration, or merger-related initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience architecting, designing, and delivering digital products within Agile environments.

Practical Information

  • Location: Brussels city centre
  • On-site presence: Minimum 2 days per week

  • A valid Belgian work permit is required.
  • A valid Belgian residence permit granting the right to reside and work in Belgium is required.
