Our client is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join their IT Architecture team and contribute to the evolution of a large-scale, business-critical IT landscape within the energy sector.
The successful consultant will play a key role in designing and delivering end-to-end technology solutions that support digital transformation initiatives, modernize applications, and enable business capabilities across the organization. This position requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and delivery teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and strategic objectives.

The organization is undergoing significant digital transformation and is investing in modern architectures, applications, and processes to support its future business needs.
As a Solution Architect, you will work alongside internal teams and external specialists to design scalable, secure, and future-proof solutions within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the IT Architecture department, you will:
- Analyze business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Design solution architectures that address business challenges while aligning with enterprise standards and reference architectures.
- Translate business capabilities into appropriate Solution Building Blocks using relevant architectural patterns and styles.
- Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders, product organizations, architecture teams, and delivery teams.
- Support implementation teams and ensure successful delivery in line with approved architectural designs.
- Produce architecture deliverables that adhere to the organization's architecture vision, standards, and governance framework.
- Provide guidance on application architecture, integration architecture, and technology selection.
- Participate in architecture governance processes, including design reviews and decision-making forums.
- Contribute to architecture decision records (ADR) and architecture assessment methods such as ATAM.
Required Experience & Skills
Must-Have
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a Solution Architect.
- Proven ability to work independently and proactively engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Results-oriented mindset.
- Experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade solutions.
- Knowledge of architectural frameworks and standards such as:
- TOGAF
- ArchiMate
- ATAM
- CBAM
- Familiarity with architecture modelling tools and methodologies.
- Understanding of:
- Domain Driven Design (DDD)
- Microservices architectures
- Event-driven architectures
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Continuous learning mindset and willingness to share knowledge.
- Professional proficiency in English and either Dutch and/or French.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in GIS solutions, preferably based on ArcGIS.
- Experience within Asset Management environments.
- Hands-on experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Work Environment
- Location: Brussels region.
- Hybrid Model: On-site presence required approximately 2 days per week.

- A valid Belgian work permit is required.
- A valid residence permit authorizing residence and employment in Belgium is required.
