Our client is looking for a Senior System Architect – Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to design and evolve an integrated ecosystem of tools and processes supporting end-to-end software delivery.
From functional and technical analysis through data modelling, development, testing, deployment and release, you ensure that all stages of the software lifecycle are integrated, automated and user-centric.
Your objective is to remove friction, simplify complexity and reduce administrative overhead, enabling engineers and analysts to focus on delivering value.
The role sits at the intersection of technology, process improvement, risk governance and AI innovation within a large-scale IT organisation.
Key Responsibilities
SDLC Architecture & Integration

Design and own the target architecture for SDLC tooling in collaboration with tool owners, covering tools such as Confluence, data modelling and architecture tools, and CI/CD solutions.

Ensure end-to-end integration across all software lifecycle stages.

Bridge the gap between SDLC process managers and tooling owners, including software factories.

Drive standardisation and reuse of architectural patterns.

Participate in solution planning, definition and high-level design, exploring and evaluating alternatives.
Architectural Runway & Agile Delivery

Plan and develop the architectural runway of enablers supporting new business features and capabilities.

Work directly with Agile teams to implement architectural enablers.

Support the continuous delivery pipeline through appropriate design guidelines and advocacy for necessary investments.

Collaborate with portfolio stakeholders, particularly the Enterprise Architect, to develop, analyse, break down and implement enabler epics.
Automation, AI & Compliance

Eliminate manual evidence logging through automation.

Embed traceability and compliance into the architecture by design.

Introduce AI to automate lifecycle activities, accelerate user feedback and support documentation.

Streamline processes and reduce manual work across the SDLC.
Developer Experience & Collaboration

Improve the developer experience and promote user adoption of SDLC tools and processes.

Enable engineers and analysts to focus on value creation by reducing administrative overhead.

Align process managers, tool owners and delivery teams around a coherent SDLC ecosystem.

Communicate architectural choices clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
Required Profile

More than five years of experience designing and implementing system architecture.

Strong experience in system or solution architecture.

Deep understanding of SDLC and DevOps practices.

Experience with development tooling and CI/CD.
