Our client is looking for an experienced and autonomous Senior Cloud Engineer to play a key role in designing, building, and scaling a new cloud-based platform. The mission focuses on delivering secure, reliable, high-performing, and cost-efficient AWS infrastructure with a strong emphasis on quality, automation, and operational excellence.
Assignment Overview
As Senior Cloud Engineer, you will take ownership of the cloud infrastructure supporting a newly developed platform. You will work primarily within AWS, ensuring scalability, security, observability, and operational reliability while collaborating closely with development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and scale AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Build and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Take ownership of the full infrastructure lifecycle of the platform.
- Integrate cloud services with distributed physical devices deployed in the field.
- Ensure high availability, security, monitoring, and performance of cloud environments.
- Manage incidents, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines and automate operational processes.
- Ensure compliance, security best practices, and proactive patch management.
- Monitor and optimize cloud costs and resource utilization.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams on cloud best practices.
- Maintain clear technical documentation for architecture, processes, and automation.
Must-Have Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on AWS experience, including networking, security, and scalable cloud architectures.
- Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of critical infrastructure projects.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and CloudWatch.
- Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Knowledge of Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
- Experience with Docker and AWS ECS.
- AWS certifications such as:
- AWS Solutions Architect
- AWS DevOps Engineer
- AWS Associate-level certifications
