Our client is looking for an API Solution Architect in Cloud services and reliability. Our client is in full swing migrating traditional applications to its own Private Cloud and also preparing for a cloud-native journey towards Public Cloud. Our client teams are specialised in IT services, which we ensure through a combination of software and systems engineering as well as enforcing best practices (resilience patterns, monitoring, postmortems, etc.). We operate in a complex IT landscape with many interconnected applications. We use our influence to improve engineering, processes, and patterns for every service/component that is part of the application chains serving our customer journeys.
As an engineer/architect in a global organization, you build solutions that are enterprise scalable, secure, compliant, and of course, reliable. You will work with other team members to help DevOps teams adopt, migrate, and consume our container platforms on private and public clouds.
Your Key Responsibilities
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience and knowledge of private, public (Azure, Google), and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Experience and ambition in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and advocating SRE among peers to apply to our solutions and organization.
- Proven experience designing high-availability and disaster recovery-capable solutions in a wide organization.
- Advanced knowledge in API development in Java/Spring Boot.
- Advanced platform knowledge in platform VM (Windows/Linux), as well as container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS).
- Middleware knowledge like event buses (Kafka, MQ), file transfer, application server solutions.
- Knowledge of datastores (structured and non-structured); Oracle DBaaS, Cassandra, ECS S3 Objectstore, etc.
Architecture and Drive:
- Proven track record in reducing complexity and delivering complex IT initiatives across multiple teams.
- Experience in complex application landscapes where you were part of multiple application chains.
- Experience and ambition with developing high-availability microservices/solutions (uptime 24*7, 99.88%).
Soft Skills:
- Good presenter who can convey stories well between business and IT stakeholders.
- Self-disciplined, very proactive, and organized, with the ability to identify what needs to be done.
- Strong team player, empowering and challenging squad/chapter members to foster collaboration and individual development.
- Market focus and outside-in thinker.
