As part of its role as market facilitator, the company is engaged in the development of Consumer Centric Energy Solutions.
Increasing shares of sustainable energy resources and massive electrification generate a paradigm shift in the consumption behaviour: demand will have to adapt to the available production. One of the key solutions is to put at disposal of the consumers all required data.
Within our Consumer Centricity department, a new product line is created to assure that data are shared transparently in a robust, secure, standardized and future proof data exchange ecosystem, that is accessible for everyone with well-defined access rights, making the company the trusted partner for energy data exchange and market communication processes between different parties within the energy sector.
This Product Line is IDEA – Integrated Data Everywhere Anytime
IDEA will operate cross country, between Belgium and Germany and will be composed of 3 main products: Batch Metering Data, Batch non-Metering Data and Added value data services.
The main mission for the coming year of IDEA is going to be to ensure data availability of metering, contracting, assets and commercial data for our customers, deliver harmonized, secure and robust permission services, ensure consistency of dashboards and data export/download services, and make sure that the existing authorization services are incremental and adaptable to all our customer needs.
We are currently searching a Product Owner for the Metering Product, allowing internal and external users to access metering and customer data of Elia Group through a machine-type communication to fulfill clients needs and to comply with our legal obligations in a fast, secure and reliable manner.
As a Product Owner you are responsible for releasing a product that meets the customer’s/ end-user’s needs, for streamlining the execution of the program vision and priorities by defining user stories and prioritizing the product backlog. You play significant role in quality assurance and are the only member of the team empowered to accept requirements and stories as completed. For most enterprises converting to Agile organizations, this is a new and critical role which translates into a full-time job.
As a Product Owner you will directly report to the Product Lead (Leader of the Product Line).
Key activities:
- Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy
- Align the product vision and strategy with customer/end-user needs and company goals
- Build the product backlog and prioritize user stories together with the scrum team
- Continuously improve the product backlog to optimize efficiency and effectiveness and maximise value of the product
- Accept sprint results of user stories at demonstration, discuss the work done with stakeholders and adjust the product backlog accordingly
- Drive sprint and release plans with the Scrum Master
- Help the team resolve impediments as needed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization and effectively communicate with them on the product vision, strategy, and performance
- Ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations and business goals
- Follow agile processes and methodologies and ensure the delivery of a maximum business value on time
- Participate in retrospectives/team performance reviews to continually improve team processes
- Ensure the product meets quality standards
- Ensure product testing and documentation is complete and thorough
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement across products and processes
Requirements:
- You have proven knowledge in data products, and customer/user journeys
- You have experience in Agile Development, with specific Product Owner (or similar) experience
- Good level of Dutch and/or French and English is required.
- You are a strong communicator with the ability to communicate complex messages to diverse stakeholders and trade-offs and tell a compelling story
- Understanding of the energy sector, of industry trends, user demands and pain points are a strong plus
- You feel comfortable with (modern) technology to be able to engage in discussion with technology team to understand opportunities and risks
- Able to coach team on Agile practices and ensure adherence to Agile methodology to deliver max business value on time
- Your leadership qualitied enable you to take fast and difficult product decisions
- Ability to persuade and lead a team of diverse skillsets
- Critical thinker who is passionate to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – you love and embrace change & innovation
